Responsible AI
How our AI works
Last updated July 15, 2026
NovaType’s AI is an editor, not a judge. It writes drafts of documents that belong to you, and you decide what to keep. This page says exactly what it does, and — just as important — what it does not do.
What our AI does
- It drafts your CV. From the history you give it, it writes bullets and a summary. Every line opens in an editor where you rewrite, keep, or delete it.
- It rewrites for a specific posting. Paste a job description and it rephrases your bullets in that posting’s language, and tells you which terms the posting uses that your document never mentions.
- It drafts cover letters and outreach notes. First drafts, in an editor, for you to change.
- It fills application forms. It types your details and a draft answer into the form in front of you. It then shows you exactly what will be sent.
- It gives you practice notes. When you rehearse an interview answer privately, it responds like a coach would — what was strong, what to tighten. Nobody else ever sees this.
What our AI does not do
- It does not score, rank, grade, or classify you. We produce no assessment of your employability, competence, character, or suitability for anything. Where the product shows a number, that number describes a document or a job listing — never a person.
- It does not decide anything about you. No automated decision-making, no profiling, no output with legal or similarly significant effects — in the sense of Article 22 of the GDPR or otherwise.
- It does not predict your chances. We will not tell you your odds of being hired, because nobody honestly can.
- It is not a recruiting tool. We do not sell to employers, recruiters, staffing agencies, or hiring platforms. There is no employer account, no candidate pool, no shortlist. Nobody can use NovaType to screen, filter, or rank other people. You may not use it to evaluate anyone but yourself.
- It does not talk to employers. No output of ours is transmitted to an employer, ever. What reaches an employer is your own CV, because you chose to send it.
- It does not identify who reads your links. If you publish a share link, we count the views. We do not identify, profile, or track the people who open it.
Nothing is submitted without your click
This is the part people worry about most, so here is the mechanism rather than a promise.
When you ask NovaType to prepare an application, it fills the form and stops. A review panel appears showing every field it filled, the document it attached, and any answers it drafted. It reads: “Check the form above, then confirm. Nothing is submitted until you click.” If you close the panel, walk away, or do nothing, the application is never sent. There is no timer and no default to “yes”. On some application systems we do not submit at all — we only fill the form and hand it back to you to send yourself.
Two separate approvals stand between an AI draft and an employer: you approve the application in your dashboard, and then you confirm the filled form in your browser. Our servers have no ability to submit an application on their own.
The free CV check uses no AI at all
Our free writing check is a plain checklist: bullets with no numbers in them, weak opening verbs, filler phrases, missing sections. It runs entirely inside your browser — your document is never uploaded, never sent to a server, and never seen by a model. It is closer to a spell checker than to an assessment, and it says nothing about you as a person.
Your content and the models
Your documents are processed by our AI providers only to produce the output you asked for. We do not sell your content, and we do not use your private career content to train models without your consent. See the Privacy Policy for the full detail, and the Terms of Service §6, where the commitments on this page are contractually binding rather than merely stated.
